A good start-up with significant ambitions requires a good management team and investors who believe in us. Yet, we are nothing without the best Engineers. We are therefore seeking an experienced Development Engineer who will be responsible for design and analysis of floating solar power plants. Sound interesting? Well there is more to this role of course.
The work tasks are related to product development of systems delivered to power producers globally. Main responsibilities will be to ensure structural integrity and seaworthiness of floating solar systems, balancing requirements between cost optimisation, material selection, manufacturing, product standardisation and construction codes. This activity requires good education, knowledge and an interest in design tools and the finite element method. Additionally you will of course be an important player within the company and our product development and launch. In other words; a great opportunity to make an impact.
Who are you?
Experience and education from design and structural calculations is a must. Additionally we require someone who has good knowledge of post-processing and results presentations as well as relevant curriculum from naval architecture, machine, construction design or similar. It is perhaps just as important that you have a strong interest in product development and technology qualification and that you really want to be part of something new and exciting. And finally; we do require that you speak Norwegian at a minimum of B2 level.
What can we offer and why should you join us?
We truly believe in this and so too do our investors. Solar energy is set to become the dominating source of energy in the renewable future. You will be a part of this future and not just a part, you will be an integral part. You will work with new cutting edge technology and be the key player in terms of product development.
Sounds like fun? Sounds like a challenge? Then we certainly want to hear from you. Who knows; boldly some may say, but perhaps we can both say in 10 years` time; «We made a success out of building a large international solar power company.»

Welcome to Ocean Sun. We are looking forward to hearing from you
Ocean Sun has since April 2017 successfully tested offshore floating solar installations outside Bergen and Singapore, the first full scale pilot has been installed in 2018.
Solar energy is set to become the dominating source of energy in the renewable future. Development of solar power plants require large land areas, and access to land is becoming a challenge to growth. Our goal at Ocean Sun is to transform the way solar power is developed and make cheap renewable energy available to millions living by inland reservoirs or the sea. A low cost solution for developing floating solar power plants on lakes and the sea will give access to unlimited areas for solar energy development where most of the global population live. Close to 60% of the world population live in coastal areas, and more than 75% of the worlds mega cities is located by the ocean. There is currently a market for floating solar on lakes and dams that are estimated to be close to a TW, or 1000 billion USD in investments, from now until 2050 . With a patented cost efficient floating solar solution, Ocean Sun is well positioned to take a significant position in this market.
Ocean Sun has recently secured financing from strong industrial and financial investors. To complete product development, and enable delivery of large scale commercial solutions from 2020 we are now recruiting key personnel.
